No Slippy Hair Clippy Review, eBay Auction, & Giveaway

No Slippy Hair Clippy Review,
Auction, & Giveaway

Triangle Mended Little Hearts (TMLH), were excited by the support and generosity we received after contacting No Slippy Hair Clippy about donating items to us for fund raising. Not only did they donate "an" item, they donated a bag full of hair accessories from their ever popular line of specially designed hair bows, clips, and head bands that stay put.

We had planned to hold eBay auctions for these items several months ago, but have had issues getting our accounts up and running. Now that, that's taken care of... we can finally discuss these wonderful items and give you a chance to win or buy one of your own!

If you'd like to bid on these items, please visit: TooBeauties Auctions
Auctions Begin this Thursday, August 19, 2010, at 9pm.

Back in May, Veronica, from No Slippy Hair Clippy, sent me an envelope filled with beautiful, colorful, unique hair accessories from their collections. I felt like a kid in a candy store! They were so pretty and my girls wanted to wear them immediately. These aren't your normal plastic hair bows you can buy for a few bucks in bulk. They are like no hair accessories I've ever seen before.

At first, I didn't think much about the "No Slippy" claim that their hair bows/clips stay put. I'm used to reattaching my girls' bows several times a day and using hair spray to make sure they stay put. There have been many days after school that I've noticed their hair bows were missing, hanging at the very bottom of their hair, or lost forever. You could say I'm a sceptic, I suppose.

Our oldest daughter, who is 8 years old, wanted the larger bows, while our youngest daughter wanted the smaller ones. We had a birthday dinner planned for our soon to be 6 year old and what better time to try these out! I placed the large yellow flower clip in our 8 year old's hair and the smaller pink bow pinch clip in our birthday girl's hair.

We headed out to eat at her favorite restaurant and I really forgot all about whether the hair bows even stayed put or not. We had a great time and enjoyed the meal and dessert with a special Happy Birthday song just for her. Something that the restaurant staff didn't normally do, but because she was turning six and it was her favorite restaurant, they made her song extra special!

It wasn't until we were leaving the restaurant, that I realized the No Slippy items had stayed put and were still as perfect as they were when we left home. I was surprised. In all of the excitement of my daughter's birthday celebration meal, I'd forgotten about the hair bow issue. I'm usually fiddling with their bows every hour or so, but never had to touch their hair during our outing that evening.

After that, I really wanted to try out all of the accessories that had been sent to us for our review. It was exciting for me to find an item that actually does what it says it can do! So, we tried them all out and had great success with most of our items. They sent me a sampling of several sizes and styles so we could try them out and find what worked best for us.

The only issue I ran into with these hair bows were with my youngest daughter. She has super fine, but thick, short hair and the 1" Pinch Clips were a little hard to get in and find a good spot to stay on her. I had a tough time finding the perfect spot in her hair for the 1" clip to stay in without moving about. My oldest daughter's hair is fine, but very thick. Her hair was just too much for the 1" Pinch Clips.

I would recommend the larger Pinch Clips for older girls. I believe the smaller clips are aimed more towards babies and toddlers, anyway. The larger Pinch Clips and French Clips worked wonderfully and we've had no issues at all with those.

(1" Hair Clip)

The No Slippy Head Bands are gorgeous! My girls' hair is too short to wear them properly, but they are so pretty and soft. I can't imagine any little girl ever getting a headache from these! The great thing about No Slippy is that they make their hair bows and head bands in varying sizes, so all Little Princesses can wear their items!

(Head Band)

On a scale of 1 to 10, these lovely hair accessories scored a solid 10 with our family! They are well made, stay put, and look as beautiful today as they did when we first opened the package. I plan to order more soon, from their website and eventually, replace all of our old, beat up plastic bows with No Slippy bows!

I know you will love them too! I'm so sure, I'm giving one away...

Two Bees Tutu Review

I posted this review on my personal blog, Two Divas And A Wife, and now I'm sharing it with TMLH:

For the month of May, Two Bees Tutus is helping our local CHD support group, Triangle Mended Little Hearts, raise money. I have to give them props for working one on one with me, the customer, to ensure that my order was to my liking and that everything was correct. It's so nice to have great customer service!

They made my 8 year old daughter's idea a reality when they took her drawing and made it into a painted piece for her wall. The Hair Bow Holder is going to be the focal point of my daughter's Aqua Green wall! My daughter came up with this idea:

And this is what Cynthia and Theo created for her:

Absolutely gorgeous! Don't you think? I wish I could have had one of these as a child. This is something she will be able to keep for years and hopefully, hand down to her kids one day.
My 5 year old, almost 6 year old, wanted a Tutu for dressing up. She loves to pretend she is a ballerina or a princess, so she chose something she could play in. After she sees her sister's Hair Bow Holder, she may rethink her idea, though! I'm sure we will be ordering a Tutu Holder to hang in her room, too!

What were their reactions to their Two Bees gifts? How about this?

If you'd like to order one of Two Bees Tutus items or have them create a princess and pirate party for your little one, visit their blog, facebook page, or email them!

*~* Cora's Bracelets *~*

For the past few months, I have been getting to know Kristine. She is working night and day to spread CHD Awareness to all moms to be. Kristine gave birth to a very special little girl, Cora, on November 30, 2009. Precious Cora passed away in her mother's loving arms on December 6, 2009 from an undetected Congenital Heart Defect or CHD. Her mother is selling Pink Cora Bracelets, making Cora Bows, blogging, and raising awareness all over the Internet! I thought I would share some of the many things she is working on, to help her, help our CHD community educate the public about Congenital Heart Defects.

Kristine, you are an amazing woman! Your little angel is surely smiling and celebrating with you...

By popular demand... Cora bracelets!

I've been "unofficially" selling these for awhile. Ben and I purchased them ourselves, but all the proceeds are going to Cora's Story, the non-profit dedicated to raising awareness and educating expecting parents about congenital heart defects.

Cora IS saving lives. I've read the first hand reports of babies saved because of her. We can do so much more. Buy a bracelet, save a baby. And, this way, you'll always have something pink for Wear Pink For Cora day.

Shipping is included and they're being shipped from our home so no third party costs. Did I mention every penny goes to raising awareness, educating, and saving lives?

Congenital heart defects are the number one birth defect, and kill more children than all forms of cancer combined. But, there is hope and through educating and working with expecting parents, much can be done to save these tiny hearts.

Click the "pay here" button where you can either pay with you PayPal account or via a credit card. There are two styles, the "I Wear Pink for Cora" that comes in child, medium and large sizes. All bracelets are $3, including shipping. Unfortunately, we can't offer shipping outside of the United States right now.

Make sure your shipping address is correct on PayPal. I email to confirm that I got your order and will mail within a few business days. Remember, shipping is included and all proceeds go to saving and improving lives.

If you'd like a bracelet or two, but don't want to use PayPal, you can send a money order or check made out to Cora's Story, Inc. to Cora's Story

Acquiring Donations

TMLH is a small, but growing support group in the RTP area of North Carolina. We are lacking funds for basic care packages and supplies for CHD Awareness. For the past few weeks, I have been on the hunt for any donations I can get my hands on. As of now, I have three items from a popular TV show, a Tutu and a Painting on the way, and Gift Cards from a local restaurant.

I'm open to any suggestions or advice for obtaining more donations from local businesses, as well as celebrities. I don't care if they are an A Lister or C Lister! Celebrity is Celebrity.

Why am I doing this?

TMLH had just started it's meetings and was in it's infancy when we found them. They helped us tremendously and ultimately, we moved our daughter's cardiac care to Duke Children's, because of their support and advice. We have never regretted our choice to move our child's care and have been satisfied with our daughter's doctors since our move. I am committed to giving back to this group any way I can. I spend my spare time networking online for the group, raising awareness for CHDs and for the support group.

Please help us if you sell products (i.e. Avon, Custom Made Items, Jewelry, etc.) or if you have a contact that can help us acquire donations from any celebrities, musicians, artists, etc.

Thanks!

Exciting News!

Saturday, there was a surprising package in my mailbox! Someone from L.A. sent "moi" a package with *celebrity* inside! Little ole country girl is moving up in the world, y'all!

Once our Mission Fish account is verified, we will be ready to start auctioning off items on eBay. This envelope contains 3 of them! What's next? I'll never tell.... BUT! I am expecting more packages in the mail soon and a few "one of a kind" items in the near future!

If you haven't added T.M.L.H. (Triangle Mended Little Hearts) to your friends, follow, or Twitter accounts, please do. We are a chapter of Mended Hearts in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina that meets monthly at Duke Children's Hospital.

I am campaigning on my own to find celebrities, businesses, and local entrepreneurs to donate items or proceeds from the sale of their items to our group. We are in need of funds so that we can continue to help local families of children and adults born with Congenital Heart Defects. If you have *connections*, please contact me!
